Eschewing the hyper polished sound of most modern electronic music in favor of a raw, gritty imperfection that imparts mood, atmosphere, and emotion with a relatively minimal amount of musical elements; the "SPELLBOUND” album was created with a single synthesizer, drum machine, and field recorder, with the intention of hypnotizing the listener into a world of magical reflection and euphoric despair, featuring vocals from Tummo as well as Brazilian body-builder/rapper Nakamura (Naka).

Influences on these sonic snapshots that comprise the album include gritty sci-fi films like Blade Runner, as well as a lineup of musicians ranging from Ricardo Villalobos to Robert Johnson.

The emotional theme of the album is one of resilience and serenity in the face of futility and despair, expressed in a wash of often hyper saturated chords and melodies, with determinedly driving, crunchy rhythms.

The album title (and complementary theme) for "SPELLBOUND” comes from becoming aware of outdated stories we tell ourselves, about ourselves, that hold us "spellbound", and can be changed by changing the narrative, which can lead to the dissolution of despair and the birth of possibility.
